175th Street (A)
This station brings you to a residential area that is literally and figuratively elevated. The charming brick apartment buildings are popular among those who work or study at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, one station south.
One street over on Broadway, the scene becomes more lively with commerce and Dominican influence.
Local expert Vik, also my cousin, notes that Malecon is the go-to Dominican restaurant of the area.
Across from Malecon is the United Palace of Spiritual Art. Truthfully, Iām not sure what all goes down there, but suffice it to say Project 472 is intrigued and thinks you should drop a comment if you end up at an event or meet a goddess there.
Some of the subway stations in Washington Heights require that you use an elevator to access the tracks. Makes sense when you think about how deep the tracks are relative to the elevation in this part of Manhattan.
