Wholesale isn’t glamorous, and neither is this stop. I would not hang out here for food or the vibes, but I would check out …

The Flower District

The block of 28th street between 7th avenue (where the station is) and 6th avenue is known as the Flower District. It’s a refreshing, unpretentious, and very short walk with wholesale plants and flowers.

Wholesale Clothing

Look, I’m a vegetarian. I am not fiending for fur. But if you are, and you want it at a discount, 29th and 30th streets between 7th and 8th avenues is where to go.

There are also a bunch of other wholesale, discount, and second-hand clothing stores in the area too, not limited to fur.

The general vibe of the wholesale/discount clothing stores around here.

Fast-Casual Food

Pret-a-Manger, McDonalds, Popeye’s, Le Pain Quotidien, Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Irish pubs are the primary food options around here.

Art

Clamp gallery is small but worth a visit if you’re in the area. It’s also next to Kremer Pigments, a store for the painter who wants to create their own paints from scratch. The Museum of FIT is on 7th, free, and open Wednesdays-Sundays.

The general vibe just out of the station on 7th ave.
