57th Street (F)
This station brings you to a tourist-oriented upper-midtown location. Skyscrapers, I <3 NYC T-shirts, restaurants with large capacity, you know the deal.
The view right outside the station, facing east down 57th.
Nothing really incredible is happening directly outside the station; it’s more a starting point for walkable locations like The Ritz Carlton, Central Park, Times Square, and Carnegie Hall.
In terms of food, I didn’t find anything out here that a local would venture into midtown for. But for tourists, the options will keep you fueled for your city adventure. On the upscale side: Nobu Fifty Seven. On the mid-scale: Rue 57 or Acadia. On the fast-casual side: Mangia 57th.
But hey, if the F train is right there anyway, why not take it to another destination where you can get great food in, well, anywhere but midtown.
I spy the subway station. Do you?
