86th Street (Q)

This area is classic Upper East Side: wealthy, residential, with date night restaurants and fast casual cafes for parents on the go. And this old-money part of town now has a fancy new subway station, finished in 2017.

The street vibe around the station.

If you’re around, check out the actual station: There’s art in there!

The art in the 86th St (Q) station is worth seeing up-close.

For a lively place, go to Ethyl’s: Check their website for burlesque shows, live music, and themed dance nights.

For food, the restaurants in the area are generally either fast-casual, or affordable upscale. I don’t have any specific restaurant recommendations, but let’s put it this way: I’m not going out of my way to pursue a restaurant in this area, but I also don’t need to leave the area for a nice enough meal.
