Avenue X (F)
Come to this multicultural, immigrant-forward hub to discount shop, bowl, or play billiards.
Let’s talk about Jumble. Family-owned by Palestinian brothers, Jumble’s entrance welcomes you in English, Spanish, and Russian, just three of many languages you’ll hear around this station.
Malek Jawad, CEO and Founder of Jumble. If you see him on your Jumble adventure, chances are high you’ll have a great conversation. Tell him Project 472 sent you his way!
If you’ve ever wanted to go on an adult treasure hunt, or find a Halloween costume in January, Jumble’s your place. You can buy mega-discounted items from stores like Target, Amazon, Walmart that have congregated in one of the many large bins here. Sometimes, the store even has laptops in stock. You can’t know in advance what the stock will be, which adds to the thrill of a quality find.
Next to Jumble is Bowl 360. In the daytime, it’s filled with kids’ birthday parties and senior citizens. At night, it’s got a club-like vibe. It’s not fancy, but why not strike your enemies into their graves? After all, you are in Gravesend.

Also on McDonald Avenue, Skyline Billiards & Bar sits above a sheet metal corporation. This tucked-away spot hosts serious players, similar to Gotham City Billiards Club off Avenue U. It’s also open 365 days, from 11am to 2am (and 3am on Fridays and Saturdays).
Skyline Billiards & Bar. The entrance leads you to a stark staircase. Follow it up for the scene.
Beyond these recommendations, though, I’d also come to this stop just to walk around and observe the different cultures you come across, represented through shops and organizations. You’ll find everything from a Yemeni deli to a Holocaust-survivor support facility on Avenue X within mere feet of the station’s exit.
