Brook Avenue (6)
This part of Mott Haven is a Afro-Latinx hub, home to incredible bakeries and the best tres leches cake in New York City. It’s bright and colorful, great for dinner out, a street art stroll, or just wandering around.
For tacos, try El Tamalito or Taqueria El Tanque. For a more upscale dining experience, I recommend Hacienda Agave.
Walk down St. Ann’s south towards Bruckner, and you’ll hit some cool murals on the way.
On St. Ann’s Street, nearby the Bruckner intersection.
Now, for the sweets.
I recommend Mora Bakery, Valencia Bakery, Antojitos Lulu, or for the simplest yet most delicious tres leches, Franco’s Bakery (ignore their reviews, idk what’s going on, just trust me)
Last up, Lupe Botanica is a fascinating store for browsing Catholic spiritual paraphernalia.
La Lupe Botanica.
