Queens Plaza (E, M, R)

This stop greets you with glassy high-rises that tower over the cars and trains zooming about. It’s got young professional vibes, and racially leans Asian-American.

Art: Go to the SculptureCenter, which is free!

Project472 loves the creepy basement vibes at the SculptureCenter.

Food: Outside the station, you’ll find food trucks along Jackson Ave. You can also try JACX&CO, a food hall on the ground floor of a high-rise, or one of my favorite Sichuan chains, Xi’an Famous Foods.

A good book: I love the Book Culture out here. Compared to its Columbia University branch, this Book Culture is less academic and more pop culture-y.

A night out: Check the events page at Dutch Kills, or try Finback Brewery for “unique fermentations.”

The entrance to Dutch Kills.

A grocery store: Some grocery stores just have a vibe. I liked City Acres Market right off this stop. If I lived off the E, M, or R trains, I would really make it a point to pick up some snacks here from time to time!

Glass-steel-concrete vibes.
