Inwood - 207th Street (A)

Primarily Latinx with a splash of white folks. Less of a melting pot, more of a mosaic, with Broadway street generally cleaving the Latinx-side of 207th street from the white residential part.

This stop fascinates me, because you can so cleanly identify which establishments are geared towards the local Hispanic population, and which ones are targeting the white people who are likely in the area due to its proximity to Isham Park and Inwood Hill Park.

On 207th, just south of Broadway.

On 207th, just north of Broadway.

In general, if you leave this station and walk toward the parks, you’re heading into the white people area, with establishments like laptop-friendly Buunni Coffee and sports-hub Inwood Bar & Grill catering to gentrified tastes.

If you go the other way, down 207th street towards the 1 train, you’re traversing through a rich Latinx landscape, and you’ll find food & dance recommendations here.

There’s one interesting exception, which seems to invite both white people and Latinx people: the C-Town supermarket that’s right outside the station.
